We are sad to announce that on September 1, 2023, at the age of 86, Barbara Carter of Whitwell, Tennessee passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, James B. Prestwood and Bessie Prestwood; her husband Vernon Carter; her son David Carter; her brother James Prestwood; and her sister-in-law Mary Ann Prestwood.
She is survived by: her daughters, Deborah Smith (Bobby), Dana Chaudoin and Dawn Ownby (Philip); her grandchildren, Brian Philpott (Susan), Brandon Philpott (Amanda), Aaron Ownby and Madalyn Ownby; and her sister Myrtle Harris. She is also survived by several great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
