He was predeceased by: his wife Sue Pearson Byrd; his parents, James Byrd and Litha Byrd; and his siblings, Minnie Byrd, Ella Trent, Bonnie Kuykendall, Willie, Henry, Freeman, Carl and Mack Byrd.
He is survived by: his daughter Ginger R. Byrd (Kevin Crigger); and his niece Barbara Wolfe. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
