He was predeceased by: his parents, John Herndon and Lois Herndon (Lindsey) of Newport; and his siblings, John L Herndon, James Herndon, Jean Herndon Clevenger and Patricia Herndon.
He is survived by: his son Reggie Herndon (Michele); his granddaughter Laura Herndon of White Pine; and his brother Patrick Herndon of Salem, VA..
