He was predeceased by: his wife Carolyn Myers McCoig; his parents, Charles McCoig and Rose McCoig; and his siblings, Fred, Joe McCoig and Bobbie Hair.
He is survived by: his daughter Angela; his son-in-law Keith Johnson; his grandsons, Wayne Johnson (Melinda) and Matthew Johnson (Meah); and his great grandchildren, Ava Rose Johnson and Noah Robert Johnson. He is also survived by one niece and two nephews, several friends and other family members.
