He was predeceased by: his parents, Odell Gipson and Mildred Cherry Gipson; his wife Gwen Gipson; his siblings, Stanly, Ethel, Dorothy, Bertie and Becky; and his sons-in-law, Tom Day and Bruce Hurry.
He is survived by: his children, Tom (Pat), Sharon Denton of White House, TN and Kathy Hurry; and his grandchildren, Jennifer, April, Jeremy, Catherine, Lynn, Christy and Sara. He is also survived by 16 great-grandchildren.
