He was predeceased by: his father Herbert Freeman; his former wife Mary "Boots" Jackson; his wife Alda M. Jackson; and his siblings, Collins Jackson, Elizabeth Willis and Dartha Bull.

He is survived by: his children, James "Butch" Jackson (Karen) of Smyrna, Linda Baker (James) of White Bluff, Debbie Taylor (Ricky) of White Bluff and Laurie Parker of White Bluff; and his brother Jim Jackson of White Bluff. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.
