He was predeceased by: his father John Walter Ray, Sr.; and his daughter Shontelle Furlough. He is survived by: his children, John Walter Ray III (Denise) and Danielle Ray; his great grandchild Estell Ray; and his brothers, Harold Ray (Linda) and Nelson Ray (Tamara). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
