He is survived by: his wife Ruby Tidwell; his children, Tammy Coulter (Tim), Jimmy "Buster" Tidwell (Michelle) and Michael "Brian" Tidwell; and his sisters, Helen Strickland, Barbara Fields and Betty Hunt (Eddie). He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren.
