He was predeceased by: his parents, Coleman Spann and Ruth Martin Spann; and his brothers, Carl and Dennie. He is survived by: his wife Johnnie Hall Spann; his children, Kimberly McDonough (Steve), Tim Spann (Jennifer) and Michael Spann (Carolyn); his grandchildren, Linsey Phillips (Andy), Lacey Raburn (Warren), Brad McDonough (Courtney), Mitchell Spann, Bonnie Spann, Kaytlyn Deland, Brooklyn Deland, Adalyn Spann and Micah Spann; his great grandchildren, Jake, Audin Phillips, Thomas, Rebekah, Coraleigh Raburn, Hallie and Wesley McDonough; and his sisters, Patsy Brown, Judy Griffin and Wanda Harris (Don). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, many special friends.
Those desiring, memorials may be made, in lieu of flowers, to Camp Leatherwood or to the Chapel Hill Church of Christ Building Fund or to the church's Youth Fund.
