She was predeceased by: her parents, Ellis Parker and Dollie Cathey Parker; her husband Dan Gowin, Sr.; her son James Gowin, Sr.; her granddaughter Jamie Gibbs; her siblings, William "Leo" Parker, Almeda Nalls and Ethel Lorene Redden; and her daughters-in-law, Melinda and Susan.
She is survived by: her children, Dan S. Gowin, Jr. of Kingston Springs, William S. Gowin of Craggie Hope, Sherrie Young of White Bluff and Claudia Dixon of Vanleer; and her sister Bessie Green of White Bluff. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
