With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Roger Akin of Westmoreland, Tennessee, who passed away on January 13, 2025 at the age of 77. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest Akin and Sarah Mae Akin; his son Darren Akin; his grandchildren, Landon Woodall and Cheyenne Woodall; and his siblings, Janice Creasy and Larry Akins.
He is survived by: his wife Marie Akin of Gallatin, TN; his daughters, Kandy Woodall (Kevin) of Hartsville, TN, Kellie Rauschenberg (Jeff) of Murfreesboro, TN and Jessica Marshall of White House, TN; his grandchildren, Ashlynne Manning, Zane Marshall and Ahnna Marshall; his great grandchild Jaxtyn Jones; and his sisters, Wilma Moore, Diane Ferrell, Ernesteen Weems, Kathy Freeman and Teresa Fuqua. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Saturday, January 18th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Woodard Funeral Home (5591 US-31E, Westmoreland, TN 37186). A funeral service was held on Saturday, January 18th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the same location.
