She was predeceased by: her mother Minnie Bell Curtis; her children, Billy Joe Cathey, Norman Ray Cathey and Brenda Faye Biggs; and her siblings, Bonnie Cathey (Irene Curtis), Loyd Curtis, Luther Curtis and Richard Curtis.

She is survived by: her daughter Lucinda Mortina Cherry; her grandchildren, Elizabeth Redmond (Denny Goosman), James Biggs, Joshua Biggs (Rebecca), Shane Cathey and Jeremy Cathey; and her great grandchild Lilly Cross.
