He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Vernus and Hattie Alene Runions Mitchell; his son Harold James "Jimmy" Mitchell; and his stepdaughter Tina Qualls. He is survived by: his wife Judith Ann Baker Mitchell; his sons, Bob Mitchell (Lori) and Bryan Mitchell (Heather); his brothers, Jeff Mitchell and Terry Mitchell; and his grandchildren, Hannah Mitchell, Alex Mitchell, Haley Mitchell, Bobby Mitchell, Jack Mitchell, Mary Beth Mitchell, Morganne Mitchell and Caitlin Qualls.
Visitation was held on Sunday, November 10th 2024 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Humphreys County Funeral Home (217 E Main St, Waverly, TN 37185). A funeral service was held on Sunday, November 10th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Sunday, November 10th 2024 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Ebenezer Cemetery.
