He was predeceased by: his parents, Lester Wood and Willodean Grissom Wood; his daughter Cynthia "Cindy" Wood; and his siblings, Bobby Wood and Martha Ann Wood.
He is survived by: his wife Ruth Tirey Wood; his children, Bryan Wood of Athens, TN and Susan Vacek (Mike) of Nashville, TN.; his grandchildren, Adam Vacek, Rachael Haisten (Zach), Ethan Wood and Hannah Kimbler (Trenton); and his great grandchild Ellis Haisten.
The family requests that memorial donations be made to Waverly First Baptist Church or Charity of Choice.
