He is survived by: his wife Rita Choate of Waverly, TN; his children, Joe Don Choate (J. J.) of Chattanooga, TN and Joy Turner (Jeff) of New Johnsonville, TN; his brother Bob Choate (Elaine) of Waverly, TN; his grandchildren, Bailey Choate Baker, Mason Choate, Mylee Choate, Sophie Choate, Kristan Poyner, Evan McCaleb (Jessica) and Ashley Ross; and his great grandchildren, Carson Poyner, Ethan Baker, Paisley McCaleb, Kaylee Bridgewater, Rylee Jackson, Harlee Jackson, Marlee Rye, Emryn Cathey, Emerson Cathey and Elijah Cathey.
Visitation was held on Thursday, October 24th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Luff-Bowen Funeral Home - Waverly (2400 TN-13, Waverly, TN 37185). A funeral service was held on Thursday, October 24th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Thursday, October 24th 2024 from 2:45 PM to 3:00 PM at the Richlawn Cemetery (2400 TN-13, Waverly, TN 37185).
