He was predeceased by: his parents, Emmett Sands and Hettie Sands (Nicley); and his brother Roger Sands. He is survived by: his wife Debbie Sue Sands (Collins); his children, Patricia Hickman, Peggy Cox and Emmett Lee Sands; his grandchildren, Keshia Hickman, Justin Hickman and Michael Cox; and his siblings, Ella Joe Bunch, Helen Ruth Sands and James Robert Sands.
