He was predeceased by: his wife Vontella Beeler Acuff; his grandchildren, Lucas Davis, Whitney Acuff and Brittany Acuff; his great grandchild Jansen Chambers; and his stepsons, Joe Hurst and Larry Hurst.
He is survived by: his wife Maggie Hurst Acuff; his stepbrother William Scott (Ann) of Lynchburg; his children, Reverend David Acuff (Sandy), Debra Davis (Clifford), Donna Walker (Joe), Darnell Kincaid (Randy), Denise Lawson (William), Delora Long (Mickey) and Donald Acuff (Belinda); and his stepsons, Teddy Hurst, Ronnie Hurst and Tony Hurst (Kelly). He is also survived by six grandchildren; thirty-seven great-grandchildren; one great great-grandchild; and a host of other relatives, church family and friends.
