He was predeceased by: his parents, Ben Jr. Fugate and Margaret Louise Fugate; his brothers, Joe David and James Robert; his half-brother Kenneth Fugate; and his nephew Aaron Miles Fugate.
He is survived by: his wife Teresa Crawford Fugate of Washburn; his children, Jeremiah David Fugate of Morganton, NC and Laura Fugate Edwards (Michael Edwards) of Washburn; his grandchildren, Coleman Edwards and Gracie Edwards; his sister Patricia Fugate Sharp (Sam) of Canton, NC; and his sister-in-law Maxine Lassiter Fugate.
