He was predeceased by: his parents, Melvin Lee Newman and Martha Hill Newman; his daughters, Kimberly Newman Baltimore and Kay Lynn Barnes; his siblings, Hazel Adams, Malcom, Kenny, Robert and Ben Newman; and his great grandchild Lawless Hammers.
He is survived by: his wife Lana Kay Richards Newman; his children, Michelle Bayne Newman (Chad Sanders, Sr) of Shelbyville, TN, Diana Earls (Mark) of Murfreesboro, TN, Tina Maxwell (Brad) of Murfreesboro, TN and Michael Newman (Angela) of Lewisburg, TN; and his siblings, Mary Louise Davis of Shelbyville, TN, Laura Perry, Wanda George of Waynesboro, TN, William "Tooter" Newman of Tullahoma, TN, Eddie Newman and Jimmy Newman of Tullahoma, TN. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
