He is survived by: his wife Shelia Sherrod VanDyke; his children, Abdul, Jamail VanDyke of Union City, TN. and Elizabeth Belew of Lansing, MI.; his siblings, Benjamin H. VanDyke Jr. of Lansing, MI., Cecil VanDyke (Sally) of Jackson, MI. and Wilma Kelley (Jeverson) of Lansing, MI.; and his siblings-in-law, Patricia Brown, Rochelle VanDyke, Bertha Smith of Jackson, MI., Edna Sherrod, Pam Sherrod-Smith of Minneapolis, MN., Larry Sherrod of Jackson, MI. and Gary Sherrod (Pinky) of Minneapolis, MN.. He is also survived by five grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
