It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Wayne Akin of Union City, Tennessee, born in Milan, Tennessee, who passed away on July 20, 2024, at the age of 75, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, R. J. Akin and Lola Christine Akin (Usery); his brother Bobby Akin; and his father-in-law Thurman Hayes. He is survived by: his wife Janice Akin (Hayes) of Union City; his sons, Tommy Akin (Angie) of Guthrie and Brian Akin of Dyersburg; his grandchildren, Ali Kate Akin of Dyersburg, Bradley Wayne Akin of Dyersburg, Ryan Humphries of Dyersburg, Whitney Ikemire of Paris, Kayla Wilson (Matt) of Gates and Nicholas Wayne Akin of Guthrie, Oklahoma; his great grandchildren, Hunter, Brett, Kaylei Ikemire, Lucas, Madelyn Wilson and Rylan Humphries; his brother James Akin (Melody) of Munford; and his mother-in-law Jewell Hayes of Bradford. He is also survived by three nieces; and two nephews.
