He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles E. Thompson and Alberta Thompson (Norris); his daughter Robbie Thompson Lofton; his grandson Bradley Hardy; and his pet Carlee.
He is survived by: his wife Carla Thompson (Land) of Union City; his children, Lori Griffin (Virgil) of Troy, Sherri Smith (Tommy Hutcheson) of Hornbeak, Patti Gouger (Chris) of Madisonville, Tim Thompson (Marlene) of Knoxville and Greg Thompson (Krystal Hammond) of Union City; his grandchildren, Bob Yates (Tamara Mangione), Russ Yates (Kristin), Misty Montgomery (Bryant), Paige Mangold (Taylor), Emily Gouger, Ryan Gouger, Daniel Gouger, Aaron Thompson, Lauren Thompson and Cameron Thompson; his great grandchildren, Connor Yates, Collin Yates, Levi Malone, Miles Mangold, Ruby Mangold and Molina Yates; and his brothers, David Thompson (Wanda) of Abilene and Gary Thompson of Union City. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
