He was predeceased by: his father Nikolaos Karathanasis. He is survived by: his mother Maria Toumpanou Karathanasis; his daughter Tatiana Karathanasis (Caleb Collins) of Union City, TN; and his siblings, Eleni Karathanasis of Paris, Aspasia Karathanasis of Greece, Panagiota Karathanasis of Greece, Georgios Karathanasis of Humboldt, TN, Antonios Karathanasis of Paris, TN and Lampros Karathanasis of Greece. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
