It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joe Wheat of Union City, Tennessee, born in Bogalusa, Louisiana, who passed away on October 10, 2022, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Clarence and Grace Wheat (Applewhite); and his son Joe Allen Wheat. He is survived by: his brother Russell Zik; his wife Michelle Wheat (Homra); his daughters, Kathy Vowell (Richard) of Martin and Cindy Ferguson (Scott) of South Fulton; his daughter-in-law Valorie Wheat of Bradenton, Florida; his siblings, Ella Fay Day and Robert Wheat (Mary) of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; and his stepdaughters, Kelly McDaniel (Shane) of Lexington and Kristen Greer of Union City. He is also survived by fourteen grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to Second Baptist Church or the Second Mile Center, 831 North Everett Blvd, Union City, Tn. 38261.
