He was predeceased by: his parents, Dan Hooten and Goldie B. Hooten (Ransom); his granddaughter Marlayna Newsom-Long; his son-in-law Teddy Ladd; and his sister Dora Baskin.
He is survived by: his daughters, Phyllis Ladd of Union City, Barbara Jackson (Ron) of Troy and Linda Morris of Martin; his grandchildren, Lisa Isbell (Todd) of Union City, Steve Ladd (Michelle) of Union City, Natalie Farrar (Reece) of Kenton, Clint Gantt (Merany) of Troy, Mike Newsom of Lexington, Bryan Newsom of Martin and Melissa Thorsen (Bobby) of Martin; and also Geraldine Barrett of Florence, Mississippi.. He is also survived by thirteen great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Monday, February 17th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM at the Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home (1200 S Miles Ave, Union City, TN 38261). A graveside service was held on Monday, February 17th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Cobbs Chapel Cemetery (1380 N Shawtown Rd, Hornbeak, TN 38232).
