She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Lenore and Nellie Louise Scherffius (Lock); her husband David Lee Byars, Sr.; and her siblings, Elsie Caughron, Ruth Scherffius, Barbara White, Henry Scherffius and Trice Scherffius.
She is survived by: her sons, David Lee Byars, Jr. of Mobile and Travis Ross Byars (Brittney) of Mineral Bluff, Georgia; her grandchildren, Shelby Byars of Mineral Bluff, Georgia, Olivia Byars of Mineral Bluff, Georgia and Cameron Byars of Mineral Bluff, Georgia; and her siblings, Doris Johnson (Carl) of Memphis and Freddie Scherffius (Brenda) of Troy.
