She was predeceased by: her parent Joe Kiser; her husband Prentice Dean Peterson; her sister-in-law Maxie Kiser; and her siblings, Bobby Kiser of Carbo, VA, Kay Meade of Portage, IN, Patricia Smith (Gary) and Telford.
She is survived by: her parent Ethel Sutherland Kiser; her children, Lonnie Speight (Sheila), Spruce, Jack Speight (Jody), Mahala Byrd (Danny) and Patty Young; and her significant other Mildred Duncan of Erwin. She is also survived by eight grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild.
