He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Elmer Shelton and Florence Ethel Shelton; and his brothers, Kenneth, Broyate and Jerry Shelton.
He is survived by: his wife Sharon Shelton; his children, Terry Franklin (Jennifer) of Erwin, Shaun Franklin of Erwin and Kristi Davidson of Erwin; his grandchildren, Jessica Franklin, Erica Franklin, Phillip Franklin, Harley Davidson, Landon Davidson, Taylor Casey, Sierra Franklin and Dustin Franklin; and his sisters, Hazel Cutshaw of Greeneville, Helen Shelton (Raymond) of Greeneville, Agnes Ramsey (Carl) and Violet Blankenship. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
