He was predeceased by: his mother Inez Bennett; and his daughter Ruthie Bennett. He is survived by: his wife Patsy Sue Tipton Bennett; his children, John Bennett (Monica), Ronda Williams (David) of Erwin, Regina Tipton (John) of Erwin, Becky Bennett of Erwin and Phyllis Harris (Sam) of Erwin; his grandchildren, Deanna Hardin (Michael), Joshua Williams, Philip Tipton (Brittney), Nathanael Tipton (Britany), Joseph Tittle (Rosie), Daniel Edwards (Olivia), Kendra Miller (Christian), Hannah Harris, Isaac Harris, Terry Franklin, Jessica Street (Timmy), Jeremy Lane, Rachel Morrison (Jackie), Hunter Bennett and Peyton Bennett; and his brothers-in-law, Wayne Tipton of Erwin, Franklin Tipton (Jeanette) of Erwin, Ronnie Tipton (Lois) of Erwin, Leon Tipton (Joan) of Erwin and Kyle Tipton (Josie) of Erwin. He is also survived by thirteen great grandchildren.
