She was predeceased by: her parent Samuel Marcus Barnett; and her husband Haskel Hughes. She is survived by: her parent Nellie Gertrude Stallard Barnett; her son Stephen Scott Hughes of Knoxville; and her siblings, Kent Barnett and Ella Jane Arrowood. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
