She was predeceased by: her parents, Jess Sparks and Carrie Byrd Sparks; and her brother Deward Sparks. She is survived by: her husband Roger Queen; her children, Melanie Garland (Mike) of Unicoi and Tim Queen (Lisa) of Clemmons, NC; her sister Theresa Murdock (Phillip) of Newland; and her grandchildren, Emma and Tanner.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Mitchell County Animal Rescue.
