He was predeceased by: his parents, Sidney Peterson and Flossie Peterson; his son Scotty Peterson; and his siblings, Curley Peterson and Nella Jane Peterson.
He is survived by: his wife Marzella M. Peterson; his sons, Rick Peterson (Penny) of Unicoi, Tim Peterson (Kelly) of Elizabethton, Rob Peterson (Billy Shipley) of Fall Branch and Tom Peterson (Toni) of Knoxville; and his sister Phyllis Johnson of Johnson City. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
