He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph "Joe" Roscoe and Lucy Tolley Hensley; his son Ricky Hensley; and his sisters, Irene Tipton and Zelta Bagby.
He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Wilson Hensley; his daughters, Sandy Hensley (Allen) and Amy McLaughlin (Pastor Todd); his grandchildren, Joshua Hensley, Lori Hensley, Ashley McLaughlin and Alyssa McLaughlin; his great grandchild Bentley Collins; his siblings, Reverend Arnold Hensley (Marsha), George Hensley (Sharrol), Glasie Peterson (R. L.) of Erwin and Kathleen Cooper (Wayne) of Erwin; and his brother-in-law Stanley Tipton. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
