He was predeceased by: his parents, James Howell and Willie Mae Lyons Howell; and his siblings, Dewayne Howell and Darlene Evans. He is survived by: his children, Brandon R. Howell and Jamie Howell Sims (Shannon L. Sims); his siblings, Brenda Taylor (Bill), Billy Howell of Erwin, Ronald Howell of Virginia and Donald Howell of Erwin; his grandchildren, James L. Howell, Hayden Howell and Bonus; his daughter Kristy Broyles (Jason); and his grandchildren, Michael, Jennifer, Randall, Alycia, Riley and Ridge.
