He is survived by: his son Richard Morton Garland (Hope Bennett) of Unicoi; his granddaughter Lucilla "Lucy"; and his siblings, Rosella Yelton (Roy) of Bakersville, Anna McKhun (Eddie) of Georgia, Bradley Garland (Phyllis) of Black Water and Phillip Garland (Debbie) of Burnsville. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
