It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Don William Whitson Sr. of Unicoi, Tennessee, who passed away on October 7, 2023, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Zane Carroll Whitson, Sr. and Carrie Jack Whitson; and his brother Zane Carroll Whitson, Jr.. He is survived by: his children, Don William Whitson, Jr. of Unicoi and Carrie Whitson of Johnson City; his grandchildren, Trinity Wyatt Marotta and Weston Briggs; his siblings, Jim Whitson of Erwin, Jean Lyle of Tampa and Pat Kennedy of Johnson City; his sister-in-law Diane "Di" Whitson of Unicoi; and his former wife Amy Hall. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
