He was predeceased by: his parents, James E. Spurling and Christine Runion Spurling; his sister Florence; and his brother-in-law David Deal. He is survived by: his daughters, Marcella Spurling (Matthew Thrower) and Glenda Spurling (Dennis Gibson); his siblings, Edward (Christine Spurling), Larry (Janice Spurling) and Marli (Price); and his grandchildren, Crystal Spurling-Wetterwald (Tyler Jarvenpaa), Seraphina Gibson, Emma Thrower, Ethan Thrower and James Gibson. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins.
