He was predeceased by: his parents, Glenn Rainey and Alberta Waggoner Rainey; his wife Peggy Rainey; his son Timothy Charles Rainey; and his siblings, James Rainey and Dorothy Dorsett.
He is survived by: his children, Donnie Rainey (Esther) of Estill Springs, Michael Rainey of Tullahoma, David Rainey of Tullahoma and Tammie Litchford (Michael) of Tullahoma; his brother Jerry Rainey (Patricia) of Lynchburg; and his grandchildren, Stephanie Parris (Trey) of Tullahoma, Eddie Rainey (Emily) of Tullahoma and Natasha Rainey (Rick Schroeder) of LaVergne. He is also survived by five great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial donations be made in his honor to the Grace Baptist Church Building Fund or Gideon's International.
