He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas K. Darnell and Minnie Lee Swoape; the mother of his children Judy Lawson; his former wife Janet Hambrick; his wife Geneva Fischer; his brothers, Horace and Gene Darnell; and his niece Renee Walls.
He is survived by: his children, Johnny Darnell (Regina) of Normandy, Lonnie Darnell (Cindy) of Normandy, Teresa Bliss (Carol) of Ramer and Thomas Darnell of Normandy; his brother Jimmie Darnell (Tina) of Normandy; his grandchildren, Tiffany Brandon of Manchester, Tracy Darnell of Normandy, John, Austin Darnell of Cookeville, Jennifer Harden (Dustin) of Normandy, Donna Shiver of Normandy, Blake Curtis (Ashton) of Acworth and Dustin Curtis (Katie) of Douglasville Georgia; his great grandchildren, Ethan Pritchard of Manchester, Luka Harden of Normandy and Raelynn Thompson of Normandy; and his nieces and nephews, Duane, Lorrie, Christy, Jeremy and Tammy.
He was also a generous man; he donated the land for the Normandy Fire Department to be built on.
