He was predeceased by: his parents, George Leonard Rutland, Sr. and Myrtis Patricia Bonnette Rutland; his stepmother Irma Dean Rutland; and his siblings, Henry Marvin "H. M." Rutland (Faye) and Elizabeth Rutland Davis (Harris).
He is survived by: his wife Marilyn Ethelda Brock Rutland; his children, George Leonard Rutland, III (Angie), James Kevin Rutland (Leslie), Tressa Mytricia Rutland (Terry Nierenhausen), Craig Ashton Rutland (Cathy), Timothy Shane Rutland (Amy) and Scott Kipling Rutland (Carin); and his extended family S. Air Force. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 1 "adopted" granddaughter, and 23 great grandchildren.
