He was predeceased by: his parents, Dorothy Dean and Author Douglass Lightfoot Sr.; his daughter Dottie Lea Lightfoot; and his brother Author "Junior" Lightfoot. He is survived by: his wife Shelia Lightfoot of Estill Springs; his siblings, Vonette, Donald Holloway, Tracy Lightfoot, Helen Ramos and Stacy Lightfoot of Estill Springs; and his children, Gina, Michael Deuermeyer, Quincy Lightfoot of Estill Springs, Tabitha, Brittany Conner, Selena Escobar of Winchester and Jonathan "Wesley" Phelps of Shelbyville. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren, and 1 great grandchild.
