He was predeceased by: his parents, Otis Childress and Jenny Allen Childress; and his wife Rachel Joyce Black Childress. He is survived by: his sons, Stanley Childress (Joann) of Bradford, TN and Charlie Childress of Ashland City, TN; and his brothers, Bob Childress of Nashville, TN, Andy Childress of Philadelphia and Melvin Childress of Washington State. He is also survived by three grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.
