He was predeceased by: his father James Thomas Mays; and his sisters, Kathy Stoots and Tammy Tawater. He is survived by: his mother Martha Ann Petty Mays; his children, James "Bo" Thomas Mays (Brandy), Tonya Kirkwood and Felicia Mitchell (Jason); and his siblings, Jimmy Mays (Sarah), Lisa Forsyth (Tom) and Sara Trimm. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren.
