He was predeceased by: his parents, Milton Dixon Lockhart Sr. and Lilly Lockhart (Nunley); his wife Ruth Lockhart; and his son Nelson Ray Lockhart. He is survived by: his sons, Clayton and Tony Lockhart; and his grandchildren, Lance, Christy, Angie, Ryan, Tim, Starr and Dean. He is also survived by several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, January 15th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Cumberland Funeral Home, Inc. (96 Clair St, Tracy City, TN 37387). A funeral service was held on Thursday, January 16th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
