We bid farewell to Margaret Ellen Layne of Tracy City, Tennessee, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on January 9, 2025 at the age of 91. Margaret Ellen touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her parents, Hugh Coppinger and Glennie Coppinger (Brannon); and her grandmother Margaret. She is survived by: her significant other Dave; her children-in-law, Johnny Hargis and Freda Layne; her great grandchild Addison Kilgore; her siblings, Rose Edna Conry, Thelma Sitz, Albert Coppinger, George W. Coppinger and Greta Louise Coppinger; and her children, Nelda Hargis, Wendell Layne (Kathy), Connie Jackson (Kevin) and Coy Layne (Vonna). She is also survived by 14 grandkids; 24 great grandkids; 3 great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Monday, January 13th 2025 from 3:30 PM to 8:00 PM at the Cumberland Funeral Home, Inc. (96 Clair St, Tracy City, TN 37387). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, January 14th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Mt. Calvary Apostolic Church (117 Gum St, Tracy City, TN 37387). A burial was held on Tuesday, January 14th 2025 at the Gregg Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Mt. Calvary Apostolic Church or to the Gregg Memorial Association.
