He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Wiggins and Louvenia Byers; his son John W. Wiggins, Jr.; his granddaughter Brittany Lynn Bean; his great grandchild Joe Michael Tate, Jr.; and his sister Elander Campbell.

He is survived by: his wife Jewell Wiggins; his daughters, Brenda Byers (Mike) and Teresa Bean (Cob); his adoptive son Dean Nunley (Bridge); his granddaughters, Monica Tate and Melissa Mosley; his great grandchildren, Abbie Tate and Tristen Mosley; and his sister Roberta Sweeton.
