He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Ernest Clay and Norma Evelyn Walker; his wife Leatha Kay Walker; his children, Angelia Kay Shawver (Ryan) of Dyersburg, Tim Walker of Tiptonville and Jerry Wayne Walker, Jr. (Marie) of RoEllen; his brothers, Danny Glen Walker of Newbern, Randy Dale Walker of RoEllen and Ricky Clay Walker of Memphis; his grandchildren, Sarah Michelle Johnson, Marc Anthony Johnson, Jacob Boyd Johnson, Kristen Brooke Walker, Kasie Elizabeth Walker and Robert Wayne Walker; and his brothers, Bobby Lynn Walker and Ernest Edward Walker. He was also cherished by ten great-grandchildren.
