He was predeceased by: his parents, William Runions and Hattie Crafton Runions; his wife Shirley Gean Poyner Runions; and his brothers, Nelson Runions and Charles Runions.

He is survived by: his children, Terry Runions of Dyersburg, TN and Lageania Todd of Dyersburg, TN; his siblings, Jimmy Runions (Betty) of Bruceton, TN, Norma Reynolds of Tiptonville, TN and Ginny Holler of Peru, IN; his grandchildren, Tracy Pearson (Chris), J. T. Todd and Caitlin Runions; and his great grandchildren, Christian Todd, Zoey Todd, Ava Pearson and Emma Pearson.
