He was predeceased by: his parents, Tom Owens and Bulah P. Pratt; his stepfather Robert G. Pratt, Sr.; and his brother Thomas Owens. He is survived by: his wife Nellie Hargrove Owens; his children, Susan Ladd (Jamie), John King, Bruce King (Regina), Steve King (Tabatha), Regena Glovich (Chris), Richard Owens, Jr. and Kimberly Cox (Aaron); his grandchildren, Sean Ladd, Ian Ladd, Kasey King, Dylan King, Courtney Pratt, Kristen Gardner, Shelby King, Tucker King, Lillian Glovich, Brittany Owens, Ethan Adkins, Katelynn Fondaw, Alyssa Adkins, Madison Owens, Isaac Berard, Ayden Cox, Sheldon Cox, Desyrai Cox and Katelynn Poindexter; his great grandchild Carter Poindexter; and his siblings, Robert G. Pratt, Jr (Kathy) and Mary E. Clark (Charles).
