He is survived by: his wife Jean Watson Vaughn; his daughters, Victoria Vaughn Sweeney (Sam P. Sweeney) and Susan V. Vaughn; his granddaughters, Bethany Smith Hawkins (Matt), Vaughn Sweeney Cockrum (Keith) and Samantha Brooke Sweeney; his great grandchildren, Jakob Samuel Cockrum, Cooper Olivia Cockrum, Liam Charles Cockrum and Madeline Ryane Hawkins; and his stepgrandchildren, Carly Cockrum and Grey Hawkins.
